Workshop Description:
With over 25 years of teaching experience, Joyce knows how to bring success to all her students. Each student will begin on a level playing field, regardless of prior-experience or ability, with step-by-step instructions that guide them through a carefully prepared lesson:
* Students will be given a “painting kit” which includes a prepared lesson drawn onto a quality watercolor canvas designed and built by Joyce. Each canvas is made from Arches 140lb. cold press watercolor paper stretched onto 1 ½” stretcher bars creating a surface that is ideal for watercolors. Students will also receive a reference photo, line drawing and an instructional DVD of the lesson to take home.
*Pigments and brush to be used during the workshop will be provided to each student, however, students are welcome to bring their own brushes and favorite pigments.
*A stress-free workshop gives you, the artist, freedom to learn Joyce’s signature approach to watercolor, working from dark to light.
* Joyce will also teach
how to varnish your watercolor canvas once the painting is finished, so that your painting is ready-to-hang, without further framing.

Demonstrations:
Joyce Faulknor is available for watercolor demonstrations to all artists’ organizations. She will come prepared with her painting divided into 5-7 steps, so that the audience will see “How-To” create still life watercolors of glass and crystal objects, and, follow the the painting's evolution from sketch to finished work of art. Joyce will paint as she explains her techniques and answer audience questions as they arise. The demonstrations are filled with information about supplies that are best used for her signature techniques. Joyce’s goal is to get the audience involved and excited to paint.
